DEWC HERStory Gala at Parq Vancouver

We were truly honoured to capture video from the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre’s HERStory Gala and fashion show, an evening that was both beautifully executed and deeply meaningful. The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre has been serving women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside since 1978, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for self-identified women, including cis, trans, and Two-Spirit women, while providing vital support through meals, counselling, advocacy, housing services, shelter support, and empowering programs that help uplift their community every day. Their work is incredibly important, and it was inspiring to witness a night that reflected so much heart, strength, creativity, and purpose.

The HERStory Gala itself is centered on community, culture, impact, women’s leadership, and empowerment, and that spirit was felt throughout the entire evening. From the fashion show to the atmosphere in the room, it was clear how much care, intention, and passion went into bringing everything together. We want to extend our thanks to the organizers for doing such an excellent job creating an event that felt polished, welcoming, and powerful from start to finish.

We also want to thank PARQ Vancouver for hosting the gala in such a beautiful space. The event took place at D/6 Bar & Lounge at Parq, and the venue brought a special energy to the night that helped elevate an already memorable celebration. It was a wonderful setting for such an important cause, and we are grateful to have been there to help document it.
